Stand Up Paddle Yoga
Surfari welcomes Dani Shirtcliff starting Wednesday June 25th to kick off a summer of stand up paddle yoga classes to get you out of the studio and onto the water! Float peacefully with the tide and get in rhythm with the gentle flow of ocean swells. The meditative calm of floating on the water while practicing yoga with the soothing sounds of the ocean in the background can only heighten your inner tranquility.
Classes start from behind our shop where you will get your gear and then paddle ten to fifteen minutes to warm up and get to one of our favorite protected spots in beautiful Manchester Harbor on Boston’s North Shore.
Dani’s class is a fun Vinyasa flow with a focus on proper alignment to protect from injuries and practice most effectively. Her style of teaching moves with your breath and to sync the body and mind together as one to create a graceful practice. Through her classes she wants to help people to use yoga as a tool to live a healthier lifestyle as well as become happier in their hearts.
Classes are approximately 90 minutes long and include board, paddle, anchor and PFD. Please arrive at Surfari ten to fifteen minutes early to get your equipment into the water. Please bring your own sunblock, appropriate clothing (be prepared to get wet!), towel, and water (please no plastic disposable water bottles).
Some pre-requisites include knowing how to swim and previous paddle board experience. See our stand up paddle classes. All levels of yoga students are encouraged to join, including beginners! Sorry but this class is for ages 13 and up only.
